Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas:
Howdy from the Lone Star State. Historically, the perception many held was that the majority of elite young softball talent was from Southern California. However, most recently there seems to be a trend in Texas, from Houston and Dallas - Ft Worth (DFW), Texas, where a large number of successful collegiate players planted their roots.
One team in particular is Texas Fusion Gold 16u, which is one of the premier teams from the DFW area and is currently ranked #5 by the Texas Fastpitch League and #16 in the Alliance Fastpitch National Rankings. The team has 25 college commits from their 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 classes with over 120 college commits from the organization under the leadership of Mark Rhine and Betina Rhine.
The team has a 67-28 record in 2021 and has finished 4th at the National Fastpitch Alliance National Championship and 17th at USA Gold Nationals.
The team has an extremely strong and young roster with the top uncommitted prospects: Raegan Sucher (2023) Pitcher; 220 K’s in 2021
Kiersten Fincannon (2024) Pitcher/First Base - Extra Innings Extra Elite 2024, 170 K’s in 2021
Scarlett Poore (2025) Third Base/Pitcher - Extra Innings Extra Elite 2025
DaNia Durr (2024) Third Base/First Base - Big power with 10 home runs in 2021
Destan Burks (2025) Middle Infield/Outfield - Extra Innings Extra Elite 2025
Katharyn Gordy (2025) Pitcher - Extra Innings Extra Elite 2025
